The latest version of Wordpress 2.9.2 is now released. It is a minor bug-fix release and it is recommended to upgrade to version 2.9.2, especially if your blog has multiple authors on it. This release fixes a problem where logged in users can peek at trashed posts belonging to other authors. So, if you have untrusted users signed up on your blog and sensitive posts in the trash, you should upgrade to 2.9.2.
As always, you can visit the Tools->Upgrade menu to automatically upgrade from within your blog. Alternatively, you can download the latest 2.9.2 version from the Wordpress.org website and replace all the files on your server, using your favorite FTP program. It’s much easier to upgrade from within the admin menu, but, as always, it’s wise to do a database backup before upgrading!

There has been a lot of Wordpreess releases lately and I haven’t reported them here until there was a good solid version to mention. Especially as in the last version of Wordpress, 2.8.3, there was a comment reset exploit which had somehow surfaced in the WordPress 2.8.x branch code.
Now the lastest Wordpress version 2.8.4, is now released, lets hope it is bug free and worthy of upgrading to.
Although, it should be mentioned that the Wordpress team were on the problem very fast as a result of lots of Twitter messages that had mentioned the comment reset exploit.
Another great use for Twitter, lol!
You can download the lastest Wordpress version 2.8.4 here, or if you have any Wordpress 2.7+ version, you can upgrade from within your admin panel.
WordPress 2.8.1 is now available for download. Version 2.8.1 is mainly a bug-fix release and, as such, it is recommended to upgrade as soon as possible. Upgrading is simplicity itself, though, as you can do it by just clicking the upgrade to 2.8.1 link in the admin dashboard!
Most of the fixes in WordPress 2.8.1 were to fix security holes, reduce memory usage, fix problems with the rich text editor, automatic upgrade script, upload and auto-save errors.

The latest version of WordPress 2.8 is now available for download. Wordpress 2.8 features improvements to themes, widgets, taxonomies and overall speed.
Wordpress 2.8 feels and looks a lot like Wordpress 2.7 with some minor tweaks. However, once you dig in you’ll begin to appreciate the changes. For example, Wordpress 2.8 is a lot faster to use in the admin backend. Also, you can now browse the entire theme directory and install a theme from your admin screen, with just one click!
Wordpress 2.8 also features a re-designed widgets interface to do things like; edit widgets on the fly, have multiple copies of the same widget, drag and drop widgets between sidebars, and save inactive widgets so you don’t lose all their settings.
I recommend everyone upgrade their Wordpress installations to this latest version. The speeded up admin area makes it all worthwhile!
