iFeature is a new free WordPress theme that has been designed by CyberChimps.com. iFeature is a fresh looking theme with an aesthetically pleasing design. Among it’s features includes; an iFeature slider, dynamic header for custom logo, social icons, social sharing features, a contact section, a widgetized sidebar/footer and multiple template choices.

iFeature is one of the more advanced wordpress themes out there at the moment. Its design is very Apple-like with a nice drop-down menu system. CyberChimps have also developed an iFeature Pro theme, it’s a premium version of iFeature that includes a full-width iFeature Slider, multi-color iMenu options, business ready layouts, more widgetized areas, and many of the same user friendly settings that are found in iFeature.

Deep Blue is an amazing new blue style theme for WordPress that has recently been updated to version 1.8. It features a theme options page and it comes with 6 advanced custom widgets, 4 widget areas and almost 40 options for theme tweaking. It’s also full of cool jQuery scripts that make this theme special and, most of all, a great theme to look at.

The custom widgets included in Deep Blue include; Recent posts, popular posts, recent comments, latest tweets, feeds and custom search widget. All these widgets have options for tweaking them to your own preferences. The graphic logo can also be changed from within the theme options page, ie, Theme Option -> Misc -> Text Logo.

The theme is free but there is an option to upgrade by paying $4.95 to get access to extra features, etc.

Graphene theme for WordPress 3.0 is a stylish new WordPress theme with lots of customizable options. One of the nicest features is a built-in Twitter widget, it’s very nice. The theme also has a customizable header and background which can changed to anything you like.

A great new WordPress theme called Calotropis is now available. The WP theme has a wonderful amount of selectable layout options such as; right or left sidebar or no sidebar, magazine style or traditional style, and many more options.

In fact, it’s hard to believe that this is a free wordpress theme because of all of the theme options that are available, it’s like it’s a premium theme!

The latest 1.1.1 version of the Calotropis Theme has added more new features. A tabbed column widget is included and a new Favicon feature, which means you can set your own desired favicon. If not set, the default favicon used, very handy.

Motion is colorful new WordPress theme with lots of transparency features. It is a 2-column theme with a drop-down categories menu and a widget enabled footer and sidebar.

This is an ideal theme for a computer or tech related blog as the transperencies does remind you of the Aero type features of Windows 7/Vista operating systems.

The typography is nicely done with good readable fonts used, which is great for text heavy blogs.

DesignDisease have just released another great wordpress theme for you to use. It’s called Tipz Theme and has a lot of nice features in it. One great feature of this theme is the logo changer. You can use your default blog name or you can use your own logo. To use your own you can upload your logo in the root folder of Tipz theme and name it logo.png or you can use the logo.psd as a template to create one.

The theme has rounded corners, which give it a simple Web 2.0 feel and it is fully widgetized. The front page has an easy to use “featured post” section so you can easily put on display your best posts. You can even put in a picture and a post excerpt to accompany the headline by editing the feature-image custom field and setting the category to “Featured”.

Mystique is a new, free WordPress theme that succeeds in its attempt to top a lot of the available commercial templates in terms of design and functionality!

The Mystique theme has some nice features including three built-in widgets; Sidebar tabs, Twitter posts and Flickr gallery. It also features several page templates with different layout styles and many other theme options which are accessible from the backend Theme options page.

The theme has some minor issues with Internet Explorer 6/7 at the moment, which I’m sure will be worked out, but at the moment it works great with Firefox and IE8!

Urbane is a new free wordpress theme by the awesome developers at blogohblog.com. Urbane has an integrated theme options page that let you specify the categories to use on the home page, configure your feedburner/twitter settings and much more. The theme looks absolutely great!

Urbane is a colorful, rounded theme design that has a lot of features built into the theme. The front page has a CMS type layout with everything you would possibly need to have, all displayed on the home page. A really useful feature is the auto-generated thumbnails feature, which works without having to mess with resizing pictures yourself.

Una is Dino Latoga’s first free public release WordPress theme. It is a fantastic new 2 column theme which is divided to give the sidebar a lot more room for you to use. It’s a great looking theme and the proportions of this theme make it a nice theme to view on a widescreen monitor.

The front page shows the latest post with an accompanying large graphic image which helps attract readers more than the usual large text titles. Below the latest post is a list of the 3 other recent posts with each post accompanied by a thumbnail image. Also, the comments and trackbacks are divided to produce a clean and organized look.

According to Dino; “this theme was inspired by a lot of great blogs out there like Web Designer Wall, Matt Brett, Avalonstar and 5 Thirty One to mention a few “.

Installation

Upload to your wp-content/themes folder as normal. But, before you activate this theme you must go to Settings > Miscellaneous and enter the following values for the Thumbnail size. Width=195, Height=155. And also make sure the “Crop thumbnail…” box is checked

Required Plugins

• The Twitter Tools plugin. Install and activate and configure.
• The Advanced Excerpt plugin . Install and activate. Go to the settings and set the Excerpt length to 25 and uncheck the img

The theme has been safely tested on WordPress 2.5 and WordPress 2.5.1. The live demo for the theme is currently being used on Dino’s Blog. You will be able to see the Una theme in action there. Unfortunately Sidebar Widgets is not supported with this version of the Una Theme, but it more than makes up for it with the sidebar’s great usability.

iThemes.com has just released the first of its free, professionally designed WordPress themes to the WP community!

The 2 themes released are both called iThemes Web 2.0, and the reason is that this theme comes in two flavors, either a 2-column or a 3-column design. The really great part is that both of these themes are widget-ready and compatible with the latest version of WordPress (2.3.2).
