Una is Dino Latoga’s first free public release WordPress theme. It is a fantastic new 2 column theme which is divided to give the sidebar a lot more room for you to use. It’s a great looking theme and the proportions of this theme make it a nice theme to view on a widescreen monitor.

The front page shows the latest post with an accompanying large graphic image which helps attract readers more than the usual large text titles. Below the latest post is a list of the 3 other recent posts with each post accompanied by a thumbnail image. Also, the comments and trackbacks are divided to produce a clean and organized look.

According to Dino; “this theme was inspired by a lot of great blogs out there like Web Designer Wall, Matt Brett, Avalonstar and 5 Thirty One to mention a few “.

Installation

Upload to your wp-content/themes folder as normal. But, before you activate this theme you must go to Settings > Miscellaneous and enter the following values for the Thumbnail size. Width=195, Height=155. And also make sure the “Crop thumbnail…” box is checked

Required Plugins

• The Twitter Tools plugin. Install and activate and configure.
• The Advanced Excerpt plugin . Install and activate. Go to the settings and set the Excerpt length to 25 and uncheck the img

The theme has been safely tested on WordPress 2.5 and WordPress 2.5.1. The live demo for the theme is currently being used on Dino’s Blog. You will be able to see the Una theme in action there. Unfortunately Sidebar Widgets is not supported with this version of the Una Theme, but it more than makes up for it with the sidebar’s great usability.

iThemes.com has just released the first of its free, professionally designed WordPress themes to the WP community!

The 2 themes released are both called iThemes Web 2.0, and the reason is that this theme comes in two flavors, either a 2-column or a 3-column design. The really great part is that both of these themes are widget-ready and compatible with the latest version of WordPress (2.3.2).

The people at BlueVerse.com have just released a new theme which firmly focuses on monetization of your Wordpress blog.

The theme is called Weblogger and is fully Adsense ready with a nice Web 2.0 look and feel. The side bars are well done and widget ready too which makes it easy to expand your blog with extra monetization code if required.

According to the website this theme does a lot of the monetization for you and just by installing it your blog will be nearly 40% monetized! The Adsense integration is great because the theme is designed to get your visitor’s attention in the first load of a page. The Adsense ads are displayed prominently at the very top of your blog where there is a much better CTR (Click Through Rate).

From the screenshot above you’ll see the top half of the theme is completely monetized for Adsense and these ads are very easy to edit as well. You will simply need to edit the pub-id code in 4 php files. These are;

Amadeus is a new Widget Ready WordPress Theme which has just been released by headsetoptions.org. It is a 2 Column theme with an eye-pleasing green and white color scheme.

An added bonus with this theme is the fact that it is Adsense ready and it has a very professional look and feel about it. The theme is a fixed width one which can be good thing when it comes to heavily configuring your blog later.

Amadeus also has a very Web 2.0 professional look to it with the cool looking RSS and Technorati icons and crisp text fonts.

Installation Info

• Upload the Amadeus theme to your Wordpress themes folder.
• Upload the supplied plugin files to your plugins folder.
• Activate plugins
• Activate theme

On the whole, Amadeus is a clean, professional theme which is Google Adsense ready and well worth considering for your blog. Hmmm, come to think of it, I’m kinda tempted to change mine to this one as well.

This great new theme is called Glossy Blue and is a very techy looking, Mac style Wordpress theme which features the excellent Web 2 Mini icons, from nDesign-Studio.com. The best thing about this theme is it’s great use of Web 2.0 colors and is an ideal theme for any technology-related blog or even a general website. The theme is widget ready and has been tested on both WordPress 2.0 and 2.1.

The Glossy Blue theme contains all required template files such as index or category view, search, comments, 404 error page, single view and a static page template. Another great feature is that it contains a print.css file within the theme to ensure that your blog page looks great when you print it out!
