Imagine your blog being displayed on hundreds or perhaps thousands of other blogs in your niche and related sites in the BlogRush network. That’s awesome linking power!

BlogRush is a great idea and it’s been designed from the ground up especially for bloggers. Blog Rush is completely free service and it only takes 30 seconds to signup.

What does BlogRush do?

Well, basically it’s a blog syndication network. It’s is a new twist on the old idea of Traffic Exchanges which are used to generate traffic to websites. The idea is to display a widget on your blog which will display headlines from other similar blogs. Likewise, as you display these headlines, your blog will feature on other users blogs. BlogRush will give you full control over which blogs will link to your content. These incoming links are what it is all about. More incoming links means more traffic!

Widget Installation

It is very easy to install this widget on your blog. Once you have signed up with BlogRush, simply go to the Get Code section and copy the supplied JavaScript code to a text document or just highlight & copy the code and then login to your WordPress blog. Go to Presentation, then widgets ( or Sidebar Widgets if using an earlier version of wordpress). Next, drag & drop a text widget onto the sidebar and then click on it to add the code. When the popup window opens, paste in the code, close the popup and then click Save. And that’s it! You should now have the BlogRush widget installed and visible on your blog. It’s that easy!

Conclusion

BlogRush is brand new, it just went online today but it’s already creating quite a buzz. It might be a good time to get in early and benefit from the possible explosive growth that this widget is likely to generate. The possibility of having hundreds or thousands of incoming links is just too good to miss!

This tutorial will focus on using Widgets as it a great way to quickly add Adsense to your blog as fast and easily as possible.

Many of the best WordPress themes now support the Sidebar Widgets plugin and it is simply a matter of downloading the plugin, uploading to your plugins folder and activating in your blog plugin admin area. Widgets are great as you can completely re-arrange your sidebar to the way you want it!

The Google AdSense widget is designed to work with Widget Ready themes and it is very easy to install. Although it is possible to add AdSense (or any other kind of JavaScript) directly into the standard Text Widgets that comes built-in with Automattic’s Sidebar Widgets plugin, using the AdSense widget has several advantages. For example, the color, size and h2 title tag of the AdSense unit are fully customizable from within the sidebar widget tab in your theme admin area.

Requirements:

Sidebar Widgets Plugin

Widget Ready WordPress theme

wp-widgets-adsense.zip

Installation:

Unzip and upload to your /wp-content/plugins/widgets directory

Activate the plugin from Plugins tab

Drag AdSense widget to your sidebar from Presentation tab > Sidebar Widgets

Click the configuration icon and enter your Google Adsense Client ID

Optional: Customize the color, size, and sidebar h2 title tag.

You can select which Feed icons, or ‘chicklets’ as they are called, you want to display from the widget options.

This plugin is configurable through the normal widget configuration under the presentation tab in your WordPress installation. The default title of ‘Subscribe To Feedburner’ can be changed to whatever you like in this new 1.1 version of the widget.

To install the widget just download the plugin from here, uncompress it and place it in your wordpress/wp-content/plugins/widgets directory. Then go to your admin page of your blog and activate it under Plugins. Then go to your Presentation->Sidebar Widgets page and drag it over to the sidebar wherever you want it to be displayed.

To configure the widget, click on the configure icon. You will see a Title: and a Feed URL: option. Don’t forget to change the Feed URL option as it defaults to BLOGNAME! The feed url is the one provided by Feedburner so it is wise to setup the Feedburner side first to make sure everything will work first time.

This is a really nice widget and makes adding Feed icons and functionally to your blog very easy. Highly recommended!
