The Redoable 1.1 Theme is a brand new theme by Dean J Robinson that is WordPress 2.1 compatible and is based on the great K2 theme. It supports sidebar widgets, has built in support for a dozen or more popular plugins and it also has an easy to use admin interface to help configure the theme to suit your needs.

Some of the other new features included in the Redoable 1.1 Theme are; Livesearch built in, a choice of two different single post layouts, and a dynamic style preview feature which allows you to change between dark and light colour schemes directly from the admin area. Installation

Download the zip file. Extract and upload the Reodable 1.1 folder to your wp-content/themes folder on your web server. Go to the presentation section in your admin, and select Redoable 1.1. Set your options in the theme options panel. Enjoy.

It’s great to see that the Misty Look Theme has been upgraded to Version 3. The theme is designed by Sadish on WpThemePark.com and it has some really nice extras.

Custom Header Image

In version 3 you now have the ability to import your own header pictures directly in the presentation admin area. The pictures are then cropped to the right size and it will automatically become the new default header for you blog. This is the first WordPress theme to accommodate ‘Custom Header Image’ feature.

The theme also incorporates many other upgrades, in line with the recent release of WP 2.1, and the full list can been seen here.

Theme Features

MistyLook V3 has a lot packed into it for just one theme. Here is a short list of some of the features of this theme;

• Sidebar Widgets Compatible.
• Theme Options page allows you to exclude/sort Pages for the top Navigation bar. Options page also supports Asides. Asides are ‘quick bits’ of information you want to post. They do not have to look like a regular post.

I would highly recommend this theme to anyone looking for a good solid theme. It looks great, it’s cleanly coded, has nice page templates and lots of cool features built-in. Recommended.

A new theme called Anaconda has recently been released and it is perhaps the most complete theme design that I have come across in a while.

It also supports Ajax commenting, Live search, fixed width layout if required.

This has to be one of the best themes I have seen this year and it is a likely contender to replace the current theme of this blog!

Pilkster has just released a new theme called SEO Adsense Ready for WordPress. This theme follows on from the last post which featured the Adsense Ready Theme which was also created by Pilkster.

This new theme features a full Adsense integration and also generates search engine friendly web pages! At first glance the theme may look a little basic as there are no header images or any other kind of graphics. But, this theme is focused on being search engine friendly and you have to remember that using images has very little SEO benefit!

Search Engine Friendly Webpages

The theme implements several search engine optimization (SEO) techniques, such as;

• the ‘title’ and ‘h1′ tags contain the most relevant information
• on a post page, the post title is used,
• on a category the category title is used… etc.

This should give Search Engines a better understanding of your page, and so improve your ranking for that page. Also, instead of your websites name (eg. BlogCarta.com) being used in every result, the page title or category title will be used. This is a much more useful and appealing result for search engines.

Integrated Adsense Configuration

Adsense integration includes 3 ad units per page and 1 link unit, the maximum Google allows. The theme also includes Adsense for Search instead of the standard WordPress search. The only customization required is to change the adsense pub-id number in the following files;

• footer.php – ( 728×90 Ad Unit )
• header.php – ( 728×15 Link Unit )
• searchform.php – ( Adsense for Search )

A cool new WordPress theme called Adsense Boqpod has been released which is ideal for people who would like to have a instant Adsense website, with a pre-configured Adsense layout and where all you have to do is simply to insert your own Adsense publisher ID into the theme files. The theme includes the Adsense code for adunits, adlinks and the google sitesearch.

The theme is originally based on the theme Green Boqpod from Hardi P. Hardi P had included a .psd file for the header and footer images, for the Green Boqpod theme, which made it really easy to modify.

With the new modifications made by pilkster, Adsense Boqpod is now a full Adsense Ready theme that you can download and get to use straight away.

Newsportal is a nice, fast-loading 3 Column WordPress theme designed by Kaushal Sheth which is ideal for a business or news type blog.

The theme has a fully fluid width structure to suit all screen resolutions. The big benefit of this theme, I believe, is that it is really fast-loading. There is no fancy graphic headers or unnecessary code to slow down its performance and would be ideal for text-heavy website, such as a news or article site. It would make a great business blog too.

By default the theme does not use a tagline, but that can be easily changed by editing the theme with the theme editor if required, see below. Another feature is that the Newsportal theme is fully Widget compatible.

Quick Theme Tweaks

As can be seen from the picture above, the page navigation menu bar is centered just below the main site title. I personally do not like the navigation to be centered like this, but it is very easy to change. To have the navigation menu on the left, it is simply a matter of changing one word in the stylesheet (style.css). In the Menu styles, #navlist section simply change the line text-align:center; to text-align:left; (or text-align:right;).

Also, to add a tagline to the theme it is simply a matter of adding the line < h2>< ?php bloginfo('description');?>< /h2> just below the main H1 title tag in the header.php theme file (ignore spaces when adding to theme). An example of the tweaks can be seen below.

Internet Broadcast is a great looking corporate type WordPress theme by GFXEdit.com which is based on an excellent CSS template by Luka Cvrk. This is a really nice, quick loading theme and features a couple of nice built-in effects such as featuring a recent articles list / archives list just above the main content and also three separate highlight areas which can be individually customized from within the theme options panel.

While the fonts used in this theme are quite small, they are crisp and easy to read which is ideal for an article site or news site which would naturally feature a lot of text. The theme has been tested on Internet Explorer 6, Firefox 1.5+ & Opera 9 and works just fine.

Hoofei V4 is an excellent looking two column WordPress theme with a blue, green and white color scheme. It is a simple and clear theme. If you are thinking of changing your own theme, this one is well worth looking at.

This is Hoofei’s 4th wordpress theme and they just keep getting better and better. The only slight drawback with this theme is the fact that this theme is not widget-ready. However, when a theme looks this good, it is easy to overcome this by getting creative with the clearly written sidebar.php code.

Installation

As usual, simply extract the hoofeiv4.zip file to your theme directory, wp-content/themes/. Then log in your wordpress Administration Panel and activate the theme.

WP-PageNavi – Hoefei has integrated the WP-PageNavi Plugin by Lester Chan into this theme so you don’t need to download and install it. And don’t worry it will be wrong if you have installed this plugin before, I have renamed the function in plugin code. )

Gravatar 2 – This is an updated version of the original Gravatars plugin by Skippy. Important: You must install this plugin for this theme.

Tech-o-Crunch is a new three column theme for WordPress and is a very clean looking and Zen-like look and feel. The theme is designed by Omer Cakarca. It features nice, easy on the eye, text fonts and large headings for easy readability. An entire column is dedicated to Adsense ads by default, however this is optionable if so required.

Tech-o-Crunch is widget-ready for easy sidebar customization and also included in the download is the PSD file (PhotoShop) for easy editing of the graphic and logo on the header.

Overall, the Tech-o-Crunch theme is very modern looking, has a great Zen-like feel and also looks very Web 2.0. Definitely a theme for today’s blogger.

WPThemes.info has released a lovely new WordPress theme called GreenFlower. The creator Sadish has done it again by producing an excellent theme with many cool features built into it.
